Thank you :3 I’m glad you’re dreading your hair, it’s honestly one of the best things I’ve ever done. For me, my favourite method of locking is the dread perm: it’s quick, it’s simple, and it results in reasonably neat and tidy locks rather than chunkier, messier locks. However, it does involve chemicals and it’s not the right method for everyone, so I do suggest Googling dreadlocking methods and doing some research to find out which method is right for you. As for cautions, there’s not many. If you get a dread perm, ask your hairdresser what chemicals they’re using and ensure you don’t have allergies to them (don’t dread perm at home, I’ve seen the results of some horrific homejobs and they’re not pretty!). Be aware that your hair may shrink when you get your dreads, depending on the method that you use and your hair type, so grow it a little longer than you need it just in case. And of course, the big danger is that if you don’t like the dreads, most methods are a pain in the butt to reverse and to get rid of your dreads you’ll probably have to cut them out: so be sure you’ve really thought it through and are willing to take care of them! Other than that there are no real dangers of getting dreadsĀ - and spiders DON’T lay their eggs in there like many people seem to thinkĀ (not any more than they do in normal hair, at least…and let’s face it, you’ll probably notice a freaking spider on your head! I’m a severe arachnophobic so I looked into this before getting dreaded), and they’re not filthy and shouldn’t stink as long as you take care of them. I hope this helped, good luck on your dread journey :)

This is so scarily cool.
